Now I love my jam, and we have made some weird ones over the years. Rest assured this is not one of them!
We created this jam in under 5 minutes, its 100% all natural, and we only used THREE ingredients. The secret ingredient in the secret sauce is chia seeds! Thats right, chia seeds like the chia plant from the 80s!
Chia Seed Info: They are chalked full of fiber, omega 3 fatty acids, calcium, and more! They are also considered a great source of plant based protein. Best part, they help prevent sugar spikes! You can find them in any grocery store and they are relatively inexpensive since you don’t need much.
Back to the good stuff!
You will need:
2 cups raspberry (if using frozen, defrost first)
2 tablespoons chia seeds
2 tablespoons warm water
2-4 tablespoons honey (preferably raw)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
Add all ingredients (start with 2 tablespoons of the honey) to a blender or food processor, and pulse until the it is the texture you prefer. I don’t like it too chunky, but you may leave it that way if that’s how you like it. Taste and add more honey if you would like a sweeter jam. I like mine on the sweet side! Raspberry tends to be a tart berry sometimes, so may need to add more honey than I do. Transfer the mixture to a container with a lid (I used a mason jar) and allow to set in the fridge, about an hour.
This heroic helicopter pilot was on his way back to the airfield after fighting another fire when he spotted the column of smoke. Firetrucks were not on the way and he was first on the scene. He decided to take the added risk of collecting water from a neighbors pool since the water source was so close and he was worried that the fire might creep into the neighborhood. He did about 25 trips and had the fire out by the time the fire trucks arrived. I think this is a cool video and shows the skills and risks these men make daily!

Great DIY project: How to build a hunting a survival bow with PVC.
I love bow hunting and love spending time with my kids. Bow hunting is a great family event, but with 7 kids, it can become costly.
This first video is great for kids and women. It is a 40 pound draw bow and make it perfect for kids. They really enjoy these and it makes a great family activity.
Here’s what you’re going to need:
A few feet of 3/4″ PVC pipe
2 (5/16) inch fiberglass rods
Tile saw blade (with hacksaw, or not)
Paracord (poly or nylon blend…nylon stretches less which is better for the bow string).
Once you have those supplies then you’ll want to watch this video which shows you the exact steps to creating your PVC bow.
Now a 40pound draw is great for fun and small framed people, but I needed more. I found this 70 pound design by the same guy! Its great and can totally drop a deer! These are so cheap and easy to make that everyone should consider having these made up and stored in case of long term disasters. And in the meantime, they are a great backyard family activity!
