About Us
We are a family that recently moved to Missouri from Colorado. Life was just too busy for us over there and we wanted a slower pace and smaller town. We also wanted to raise are kids to be self sufficient, self reliant, and possibly find better schools along the way. We found our little piece of paradise in southern Missouri, the foothills of the Ozarks. Going back to basics is a new experience for us too, both being raised as army brats we never had the opportunity to set in roots. So follow along with us “city slickers” as we learn how to go back to the basics!
UPDATE:
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we had to move back to Colorado. It has actually worked out very nice and we are glad to be here. We learned alot while out in Missouri. While there we realized we didn’t use near all the land we had. You don’t need 20 acres to be self sufficient. We are now on just under and acre, and all is working out very well. I think it actually works better as we spend more time as a family than with land upkeep. Urban Homesteading is on the rise, and it is very doable!
